Dicey Fabrics enters the twenty-first
century as one of the most technologically advanced textile operations in the
United States. We design, manufacture and sell only full rolls of upholstery
fabrics to most of the nations leading furniture manufacturers, jobbers and
pillow manufacturers.
Located in the foothills of North Carolina, Dicey was founded in 1957 by
the late Paul M. Neisler, Sr., a member of one of North Carolina's pioneer
textile families whose roots date back to 1860.
Dicey is the largest family owned vertical upholstery manufacturer, under
one roof, in the United States. Dicey operates its own polypropylene plant,
extruding fiber in 350 Denier/98 filament and 290 Denier/144 filament
varieties. About 30-40 colors of yarn are manufactured. Dicey makes its own
taslan, chenille and bouclé yarns, produces its own warps and
manufactures upholstery fabric on Dornier jacquard and dobbie looms. Dicey has
three tenter frames for finishing the goods and a Biancalani tumbling machine
used to soften fabrics.
Dicey
Fabrics is excited to announce its first line of eco-friendly fabrics
consisting of 100% certified organic cotton, bamboo, virgin wool,
Eco-fil recycled post
consumer polyester and Eco 2
recycled cotton .
The organic collection is made from 100% certified American grown organic
cotton. Our organic collection includes over 80 skus in a mix of naturals,
chenilles, textures and low impact dyed jacquard designs. This organic line is
truly heavy duty with nearly all
designs surpassing 100,000 rubs on wyzenbeek abrasion tests.
Our Eco-fil
recycled polyester line of fabrics has been called "greener than green" by
industry leaders. By using only post consumer polyester yarns recycled from old
plastic drink bottles,
the enviromentally conscious consumer can have beautiful and sumptous fabrics
while helping reduce landfill waste. These fabrics come in a vast array of
textures, novelty boucles, and sophisticated jacquard designs.
The Eco 2 recycled cotton
collection has become an immediate success throughout the furniture
industry as being a true "eco-nomical, eco-friendly" fabric. Now consumers
buying
furniture covered with recycled
Eco 2 cotton have a real sustainable option.
The regenerated cotton comes from t-shirt and other garment clippings, so less
dye and harmful chemicals pollute our planet.
Producing green eco-friendly fabrics only makes sense if the manufacturer is
also green --Dicey Fabrics certainly is. Dicey is a proud member of the United
Sates Environmental Protection Agency
Waste Wise program. Since
1997, our company has recycled over 94 % of its generated waste. This one of
the textile industry's highest percentages and shows the genuine committment
Dicey has to saving planet Earth. Dicey Fabrics is also a proud member of such
forward thinking associations as the Organic Trade Association, Green Building
Council and the Organic Exchange. Dicey does its part to promote fair labor
practices and by using local yarn suppliers and domestically grown organic
cotton, our
carbon footprint is dramatically lower than imported fabrics.
In many ways Dicey Fabrics is in the forefront of the domestic upholstery
business. In recent years the United States textile industry has suffered
through a wrenching contraction. It takes new ideas, new products, and an
uncompromising focus on quality to survive. With a 150 year old reputation for
honesty and integrity and an exciting choice of new eco-friendly fabrics,
Dicey Fabrics remains committed to serving its customer's needs.
Please note. Dicey
only sells its fabric in full uncut pieces and is not a retail seller.
Our contact Email
addresses will only respond to inquiries from an appropriate manufacturing
